Since 1983 SAHF has distributed more tha $150 million in I-kind assistance to more than 550 health related institutions and programs through El Salvador. to accomplish our mission: "To enhance the well-being of the underserved people in El Salvador, through human Development Programs implemented in partnership with FUSA and other organizations". Sahf and FUSAL support human development programs with active community participation aiming to impove the quality of life of all Salvadorans. Together we mobilize the good will, social responsability and the generosity of our caring supporters to promote lasting well-being for the most needy communities. Devastated by two eartquakes during 2001 and victim of drought in 2001 and 2002 more than one sixth of the population is still suffering and struggling for living after these terrrible disasters. They still live in absolute poverty! SAHF is fostering bulding and re-bulding porjects that include four communities that will home to almost 20.000 people. The foundation is also bulding and equipting a school and a day care center, as well as two clinics that will served the needs of nearly 80.000 underserved salvadorans and is sponsoring also other nutritional,rural health related and educational projects, like: "Adopt a School" and "Breast Cancer". Thanks to the generosity of people like you it was possible for us to send during 2001 97 containers with huamnitarian aid worth over $22 million. But we are still far away from reaching our goal of having El Salvador free of poverty, hunger, ignorance, illness and violence.
