Using state-of-the-art videoconferencing equipment to link up homebound and hospitalized children directly into their classrooms so that they can enjoy not only a full-time education, but they also reap the benefits of being able to maintain that social contact with their friends! The alternative for the children is that they have to rely on an average of 1 hour per day (if they are lucky) of home-schooling, which means that not only do they fall behind educationally, but they are also denied the all-important social interaction with their peers which is as much of the growing up process as the schoolwork itself. We provide our service at no cost to the school district, hospital or family, meaning that is accessible to all rather than just to those who can afford it. The equipment is loaned for the duration that the child is out of school whether it is for 4 months or until the child graduates out of high school. | |
