STATEMENT OF NEED * Every 10 seconds a child abuse report is filed in the United States. * Two-thirds of the estimated 1 million children who run away each year were physically or sexually abused. * Every Death Row inmate reported growing up in a violent, abusive environment. HISTORY Since 1973, Olive Crest has provided loving care for over 40,000 children and families. Olive Crest is one of the West Coast’s premier children's charities. Accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), Olive Crest continues to promote the safety and wellness of children and families through an array of innovative programs including specialized education, foster and adoption, family preservation, and residential homes.
