The Council is governed by a twenty-eight member Board of Directors who represent a population cross section of the region and are dedicated to providing quality substance abuse treatment, eeucation, prevention and referral services. The number of youth alone in need of intervention in the Northwest part of Louisiana has been estimated at over 5,000 for alcohol abuse and over 4,000 for drugs other than alcohol. Service is provided to clients regardless of their personal financial situation, age, race or sex.
