Most of us are physically healthy and able to enjoy and participate in many activities like sporting and cultural events, parties and family gatherings. Now imagine how different those experiences might be if you were challenged with a serious illness. You might be confined to a hospital bed, separated from friends and family. You might be slowed by crutches or a wheelchair. You might spend lonely nights with little to take your mind off the pain. At Starlight we believe strongly that every child should be free to wish and dream. We accomplish this through a variety of programs: * Wish Granting * Kids Activity Network Events * Starlight Fun Centres * Starbright Programs * Starlight Sites * Resources to Parents * Hospital Happenings These programs provide a vital outlet for children suffering from pain and the depression created by stress and isolation. A leader in delivering distractive entertainment therapies, the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation Canada is able to touch the lives of over 8,000 seriously ill children and their families each month. Please help us to help these children. You have the ability to make a vital difference in the lives of these special children. Starlight Starbright Merger On behalf of everyone at the Starlight Children's Foundation and the Starbright Foundation it is our pleasure to announce the merger of our two organizations. We have joined forces to form a new and larger non-profit organization to better serve the needs of children and teens living with serious and chronic illnesses. As the newly formed Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation we have a strong, talented team in place, and together, we pledge to fulfill the hopes and expectations of the children we serve and the dedicated supporters and volunteers so vital to the organizations' success. As we move forward we will maintain the same dedication to our mission - brightening the lives of seriously ill children and their families through innovative programs, services and research that empower, educate, entertain and inspire; never one forgetting that at the core of every serious childhood illness is a child. | |
