We also provide counseling and legal support to the whole family, batterers intervention program (52 week, court mandated),outreach and education to the community on the effects and prevention of domestic violence. Laura’s House is dedicated to ending the silence of domestic violence and strengthening the families of our community through emergency shelter, counseling and resource center, Step Ahead, children’s programs and childcare services, legal assistance, and education and training. Founded in 1994, Laura’s House is the only comprehensive domestic violence shelter in South Orange County California serving over 533,000 residents in 16 communities. Our goal is to provide supportive service programs that will prepare our clients and their children to live independent, violence-free lives. * 36% of domestic violence emergency 911 calls are made by children * In Orange County more than 3,000 women and children enter domestic violence emergency shelters each year...over half become homeless and often end up on Orange County streets. | |
