Our primary function is to rescue pets that have been abused and/or abandoned by their owners. PetSave Foundation is a non-profit public benefit corporation organized for the prevention of cruelty to animals. Its primary function is to rescue pets that have been abused and/or abandoned by their owners. Our organization provides veterinary and daily care and housing and actively adopts these animals to loving new homes. Every opportunity is taken to raise public awareness of America’s pet overpopulation problem and the resulting suffering and costs to people and animals. Our organization promotes the spaying or neutering of all pets. We also serve as an example by altering animals before placing them into their new homes. PetSave creates adoption possibilities by bringing animals and pet lovers together. Prospective new owners are screened and educated to avoid a recurrence of neglect and/or abandonment of the animals. New owners are given ample opportunities to return the animals without repercussions to the owners. Another function our organization serves is educating adults and children about animal habits instilling respect and promoting proper care of the animals currently and in future generations. This organization initiates outreach programs to foster proper respect for animals in youths. This includes either or both of the following: arranging group field trips to our facility, trips by staff and volunteers to schools, etc. Our organization also creates situations, which will bring animals and animal lovers together in a warm and hospitable environment, supervised by knowledgeable and loving individuals. We actively encourage the public to support the efforts of other rescue organizations, via referrals, stressing the advantages to adoption of existing pets, and discourage breeding activities for any type of pet because of America’s growing pet overpopulation problem. | |
