Recently, Westhab developed Top Chefs Soup---Top Chefs Soup.com--- (dried bean soup mixes)as a social enterprise. Women who work in Westhab homeless shelters prepare and package these dry soup mixes for sale. All proceeds of this social enterprise are reinvested back into Top Chefs Soup to supplement housing and employment training to include the hiring of additional women who live in these Westhab shelters. Employees are paid for their work and evaluated over the course of three months. Upon completion, those who are employment ready are assisted by Westhab's employment and training division to find jobs requiring higher skill levels. In summary: Top Chefs Soup produces a superior product with a social purpose and its employees achieve this goal by acquiring new skills which prepare them for future positions in the marketplace.
