The Shelter is no longer just a building to keep women and their children safe, but also offers assistance with support groups, legal advocacy, a family development program, and a volunteer and community education program to provide our victims a comprehensive plan to assist them in breaking away from abusive situations. We serve a three county area including Ashland, Huron and Richland counties. We have a professional staff and continue to grow daily in our services and our ability to assist victims of domestic violence. We have expanded our services to include not only victims of domestic violence, but also victims of other intimate crimes such as stalking and sexual assault. We have changed, but one thing does remain the same, The Shelter's strong commitment to ending the cycle of violence. The mission of The Domestic Violence Shelter is to provide an alternative to living in a violent situation and to offer education/resources necessary for victims to make healthier choices for themselves and their families.
