When faced with domestic violence, legal issues may be right around the corner.

When a victim of domestic violence decides to leave her abusive environment, it is important to consider the legal options available. Depending on the circumstance, you may want to consider filing for a domestic violence restraining order. Financially, hiring an attorney may not be an option.

The Legal department at Laura’s House may assist you in the filing of the legal paperwork for obtaining a restraining order. We accompany you to court, and assist you with every step of your judicial process.

Sometimes the mere thought of facing the alleged perpetrator at the courthouse is more than a victim can handle on your own. Having a court advocate with you may be of immeasurable benefit to the victim.

Our court advocates are available to provide court support to clients with issues of domestic violence as well as with various types of cases.

In addition, we host a legal clinic monthly at our Counseling and Resource Center in San Juan Capistrano. This clinic is in collaboration with attorneys from the Orange County Bar Association, where you may receive a free consultation with an attorney.
