The Marvin Jones Charitable Foundation, Inc. is an organization dedicated to supporting and motivating youth towards success by engaging them in positive experiences through academics, community involvement and sports.

Offering programs in five core areas:

1. Health and life skills
2. Arts and cultural development
3. Education and career development
4. Character and leadership development
5. Sports, fitness and recreation

* Inspiring and enabling them, especially those in disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens

* Engaging them in programs and activities with peers, family members and other caring adults designed to create and develop self-esteem

* Providing diverse activities that meet all of their interests

* Encouraging a sense of belonging to their family and community

* Instilling in them a willingness to take civic responsibility by working closely with others to contribute to the greater good of the community.

Plans for the future include extending our outreach programs to other inner-city Boys and Girls Clubs so that many more of our children can feel the positive impact of the Marvin Jones Foundation.

Since forming the Marvin Jones Charitable Foundation, Marvin has entrenched himself in both the New York and Florida communities. His foundation strives to support and motivate children towards success by engaging them in positive experiences through sports, community involvement and academics. The foundation’s focus is on assisting kids who attend schools in economically depressed areas, as well as kids who have lost loved ones in tragic situations including children and families of fallen New York City Firefighters and families who lost a loved one to the World Trade Center disaster of September 11, 2001. Marvin also assisted with the Salvation Army to comfort the families of the victims.

As a result of the long-term partnership initiated by Marvin between the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club and The Marvin Jones Charitable Foundation, the National Football League Grassroots Program granted $100,000 towards the $2.2 million dollar Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club Sports Complex. The grant was presented at the first annual Marvin Jones Day in 2002.

Is my gift to the MJF tax-deductible?

The MJF is a 501(c)(3) organization, and as such your gift is most likely tax deductible. All gifts that qualify as tax-deductible, however, are based upon recent decisions and rulings upon federal tax laws and regulations now in effect.

How is the money raised used?

The MJF has partnered with select Boys and Girls Clubs of New York and Florida. MJF is responsible for securing and disbursing private funds which will assist in providing positive programs in a stable and supportive environment so young people can develop the skills and self-confidence they will need to succeed in a challenging society. MJF maintains the lowest possible expenses by soliciting donations, including administrative and operational support, from some of our generous benefactors. Where will the money be spent? Location? ie: NYC, Miami etc.

The MJF, together with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kips Bay, NY and Miami, FL has provided unprecedented learning experiences and opportunities for personal growth for thousands of young people, thereby helping to build a better future for them as well as our nation.

Plans are already in the works to expand the reach of the MJF to Boston, MA very shortly. It is our intention to move into communities throughout the country as soon as possible.

Can I make a pledge and set up a payment plan?
